SciSpark Explorers
as part of the RGD Project-Based Mentorship Program.
Timeline
8 weeks
Tools
Photoshop, Illustrator, Procreate, Figma
Team
The original student team included Michaelah Kroupenin (Designer), myself (Design Manager), and Sofiia Kovokenko (Designer). After the early research stage, the project continued with two student designers working under Marlo Biasutti’s mentorship.
Description
SciSpark Explorers is a fictional STEM day camp created for children ages
6–11 in the Greater Toronto Area, designed to make science, technology, engineering, and math feel hands-on, exciting, and approachable.

Initial Concepts

Exploration

Result
Working collaboratively under the guidance of an experienced graphic designer resulted in a flexible identity that brings four different STEM disciplines into one recognizable camp experience. The final system extends beyond the logo and mascots into apparel, learning materials, digital applications, and promotional pieces, allowing each STEM area to keep its own personality while still belonging to the same brand. For me, the project was also an opportunity to experience a more professional design process - sharing responsibility, responding to regular critique, adapting ideas as a team, and seeing individual contributions become part of a larger visual system.
